- Endeavour to walk all 30 stations of Tokyo’s JR Yamanote Line in 12 hours
- 100% of your entry fee will be donated to Yokohama Children’s Hospice Project
- No set course. Basic directions are provided to all participants.
- Half Yamathon also available
- Take a photo at every station and feel free to take shortcuts, as long as you visit all 30 stations!
As we are unable to hold a single mass start event in 2021, we present to you YOUR YAMATHON!
YOUR YAMATHON
In Your Yamathon, YOU CHOOSE!
- Choose your date from Oct. 1 – Dec. 31
- Choose your start / finish station
- Choose to do it alone or in a team of up to 4 people

START / FINISH | Any station around Tokyo's JR Yamanote Line Station |
OPTIONS | 1) Your Yamathon (approx. 42 km): - Start at any JR Yamanote Line station, visit all 30 stations, and finish in 12 hours. - Choose your direction: clockwise or anti-clockwise. - Take creative team photos at each station. 2) Half Your Yamathon (approx. 21 km): - Start at any JR Yamanote Line station, walk 15 stations and finish within 12 hours. - Take creative team photos at each station. |
TEAM NUMBER CARDS | - Upon entry, the organizer will assign the team number cards for your team. - Your team number cards will be posted to the team leader before Your Yamathon date. |
TIME RECORDING / RANKING | - Your Yamathon is a self-paced challenge. - You must record your time by using a sports tracking app of your choice (Strava, Runkeeper, etc.) - These sports tracking apps are free and easy to download on your smartphone. - At the end of Your Yamathon, you must share or take a screenshot of the time it took you to complete the challenge. - The organizer will send you a link and you must attach your screenshot to this link - this will be your official time. - The organizer will report the official time and ranking in early November. - Details will be communicated after team entry. |

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS | -Walk in single file. Do not obstruct other pedestrians. -Walk on the pavement/sidewalk where present. -No pavement/sidewalk – walk on the right-hand side, facing on-coming traffic. -Obey all traffic laws and signals. -Obey any instructions given by police. -Do not take shortcuts through private property such as temples, shrines, parks, etc. |
