  The Yamathon is a fundraising challenge where teams of three or four people compete to walk through Tokyo…

  • This is a fundraising event - 100% of your team registration fee going to Yokohama Children's Hospice Project.
  • Option of a half-Yamathon, finishing at JR Mejiro Station.
  • Our start/finish venue is only 3 minutes walk from Tokyo Station.
  • Teams must visit all 30 stations of the JR Yamanote Line. Yamanote stations.
  • Navigational challenge - be creative and take shortcuts to each station.
  • Teams must take a photo at every station to prove that you have completed the Yamathon.

Min. & max. team members 3-4 members
Time limit Teams who fail to finish before 21:15 will be disqualified.
Eligibility
  • Must be at least 18 years of age on the race day.
  • If under the age of 18, accompanied by a guardian or adult.
  • Must be capable of completing the Yamathon in under 12 hrs.
Registering on day of event

Registration:

Group 1: 07:15-07:45

Group 2: 08:30-09:00

  • On arrival, all teams must hand in Tokyo Yamathon 2020 registration confirmation sheet at the registration desk.
  • The registration confirmation sheet will include disclaimer and team number.
  • Team leader must print the registration confirmation sheet and all the members must sign disclaimer.
  • In exchange, they will receive their team number pack. Team numbers will be given after all disclaimer forms have been submitted.
Course Navigation
Photos
  • You must take a photo of your team in front of all 30 stations.
  • You can send your photos to our Instagram or Twitter page.
Finishing
  • All teams must visit the IVG desk at the Start/Finish venue to finish the Yamathon.`
  • At the finish line, we will record your finishing time and check your photos.
  • To retire, please call the emergency contacts on your team number.
Safety Instructions
  • Walk in single file and do not obstruct other pedestrians/cyclists.
  • Walk on the pavement/sidewalk where present.
  • No pavement/sidewalk - walk on the right-hand side, facing on-coming traffic.
  • Obey all traffic laws and traffic signals.
  • Obey any instructions given by police.
  • Do not take shortcuts through private property such as temples, shrines, parks, parking lots and so on.
