Important Notice: Guidelines for Team Promotion, Influencer Collaboration, and Social Media Coverage of the Tokyo Yamathon

The Tokyo Yamathon is an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for causes selected by the International Volunteer Group-Japan (IVG-Japan). As a sponsored event, the success of the Yamathon relies heavily on the support and contributions of our official sponsors and partners.

Promoting Your Participation – What’s Allowed and What Isn’t

We understand that some teams and individuals wish to highlight their participation in the Yamathon, and we welcome this enthusiasm! Teams are encouraged to promote their involvement by wearing branded gear and making posts about their participation, stating that they are supporting the event. However, we need to clarify the boundaries around these activities:

No Claiming Sponsorship: Teams are not permitted to claim they are sponsors of the Yamathon unless they have officially been recognized as such by IVG-Japan. While it’s wonderful to say your company is participating to support the Yamathon, only our recognized sponsors hold the right to declare sponsorship status.

Influencer Fundraising Requests: Recently, we have received requests from teams and individuals to use the event for personal promotional activities, such as fundraising for their own brands or raising funds for other charities. We want to make it clear that this is not allowed. The Yamathon is a sponsored event, and our sponsors invest in the event to support specific causes vetted by IVG-Japan. Allowing independent fundraising efforts could detract from the unified purpose and commitments made by our sponsors.

Guidelines for YouTubers, TikTok Users, and Other Social Media Influencers

You are welcome to cover the Tokyo Yamathon on your personal channels! However, there are a few important guidelines to follow:

No Sponsorship Without Permission: Your content must remain unsponsored unless you have received explicit permission from the IVG-Japan team. We aim to maintain the integrity of our sponsors and the event itself.

No Unauthorized Fundraising: You are not allowed to raise funds for other causes or for personal gain during the Tokyo Yamathon. If you’re unsure about the boundaries, please do not proceed without consulting with IVG-Japan first.

We are open to building relationships that are mutually beneficial to our activities, so please feel free to reach out if you'd like to explore collaboration opportunities.

Our Request to Teams and Influencers

We kindly ask all participants and potential collaborators to respect these guidelines. Promoting the Yamathon is a positive way to show your support, but it’s crucial to stay within the established rules. If you’re interested in working with us on official fundraising efforts, please reach out directly to IVG-Japan.

Please note, any use of the event for personal gain, brand promotion, or fundraising outside of the event's purpose will be taken seriously, and we will explore all available options to address such matters as necessary.

Together, we can make the Tokyo Yamathon a success for the community!
