The Tokyo Yamathon is more than just a challenge—it's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. This year, we are proud to support three incredible organizations, each working tirelessly to bring positive change in different areas of society.
Here's a closer look at the causes you're helping when you participate in the 2024 Tokyo Yamathon.
1. Waffle: Bridging the Gender Gap in IT
In a world where technology drives innovation, Waffle is on a mission to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be part of this exciting industry. As an NPO focused on closing the gender gap in IT, Waffle provides free education in programming and IT skills to middle school, high school, and university students who identify as female or non-binary.
Education: Waffle offers comprehensive IT education, empowering students with the skills they need to succeed in the tech world.
Impact: So far, they've reached 5,000 students, with their initiatives raising awareness among nearly 10,000 people.
Policy Advocacy: Waffle is also a strong voice in policy discussions, contributing to initiatives like the "Honebuto Policy" to address gender disparities in Japan's social structure.
Publications: Their guidebook, "Watashi x IT = Saikyōsetsu, わたし×IT=最強説" is a valuable resource for girls and gender minorities aiming to thrive in the IT industry.
By supporting Waffle through the Tokyo Yamathon, you're helping to create a more inclusive tech industry in Japan.

Climate Action: By enhancing the CO2 absorption capacity of forests, TCC plays a critical role in the fight against climate change.

Disaster Resilience: TCC’s work also helps create environments that are more resistant to natural disasters, protecting communities from harm.
Community Engagement: Volunteers and local children are actively involved in conservation efforts, fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to nature.
Your participation in the Yamathon helps TCC continue its crucial work in preserving Japan's natural heritage.
