Joe Pournovin is a passionate advocate for community engagement and social impact, serving as the Founder and Event Director of the Tokyo Yamathon. With a deep commitment to making a difference, Joe has been instrumental in growing the Yamathon into a landmark event that combines fitness, exploration, and philanthropy. His leadership has helped raise significant funds for various organizations, driving positive change both locally and globally. Joe's dedication to building a stronger, more connected community through the Yamathon continues to inspire participants and partners alike.

Mitsuhiro Honda first became involved with the Tokyo Yamathon in 2014 as a corporate sponsor, initially participating in the event before transitioning to a volunteer role. Drawn by the passion and diversity of the IVG members, Mitsuhiro quickly became a dedicated part of the Yamathon community. His commitment deepened over time, leading him to take on a key leadership role as Chief Strategy Officer and Board Member. In this capacity, Mitsuhiro ensures that participants enjoy the event in a safe and engaging manner while also developing strategies to attract more corporate sponsors. His extensive experience as a corporate professional, participant, and operational volunteer uniquely positions him to contribute to the ongoing success of the Tokyo Yamathon.

Charles leads the brand strategy and establishes programs for the Tokyo Yamathon, an endurance walk that unites teams to support community impact initiatives. IVG-Japan, a volunteer-driven organization, partners with NPOs to drive meaningful change, and my role focuses on expanding awareness, engagement, and fundraising efforts. With over 35 years of experience in Japan, I bring a deep understanding of market dynamics and storytelling to connect participants, sponsors, and beneficiaries in a shared mission of social good.

LIV HAWKSWORTH

CHIEF VENUE ・ EXPERIENCE OFFICER

Liv first joined IVG-Japan in 2023 as Volunteer Director, eager to connect with the community. After experiencing the incredible atmosphere of Tokyo Yamathon, she continued her journey with the team to help bring the event to life in 2024. Now, Liv is back for 2025, stepping into a new role where she'll focus on creating a dynamic and engaging experience for participants, partners, and sponsors alike. Can't wait to see you there!

ZAIN ABBA

Zain began working with IVG-Japan to record footage for the 2017 Yamathon. During that event, Zain witnessed firsthand the magic of the Yamathon, experiencing the incredible energy and community spirit shared by the participants and volunteers. It was a remarkable experience to be part of such a meaningful event. Since then, Zain has continued to collaborate with IVG, producing content to increase awareness of the organization's mission and showcasing the impact that events like the Yamathon have on people's lives. Zain looks forward to seeing you at the next event!

AARON PEARCE

VOLUNTEER DIRECTOR

Aaron first participated in the Yamathon as a team leader in 2024 and enjoyed it so much that he is now joining as part of the organizing committee for 2025. Bringing several years of experience in line management as a volunteer for conventions back in his home country, Aaron is committed to making the upcoming Yamathon even better than the last.

JASON TARKA

VOLUNTEER STRATEGY LEAD

Jason is excited to have the opportunity to facilitate a positive volunteer experience for the Yamathon. He has experience both in participating in half-marathons and engaging in a variety of volunteer experiences, including at hostels, farms, schools, and races. Jason is looking forward to meeting and working with volunteers as we support charities and our community at this year's Yamathon!

Mica Adderley

Mica first participated in Yamathon 2024 as a volunteer and was inspired by the passion and excitement shared by both the volunteers and participants. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with volunteers this year and is committed to fostering a sense of connection and engagement, to ensure that everyone has an unforgettable experience. Chantelle Bamba

SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPERATIONS

LEAD

Chantelle first joined Yamathon as a volunteer in 2024, and she was immediately drawn in by the energy and sense of community! The teamwork and impact of the event inspired her to get more involved, and this year, she’s excited to bring fresh ideas to the table while meeting and supporting school volunteers. She loves creative projects, exploring new places, and connecting with people from all walks of life. With so many amazing volunteers and participants coming together, Chantelle knows this year’s Yamathon will be an unforgettable experience—and she can’t wait to be part of it!

Katrina (Tinky) Alvina

DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT LEAD

Tinky was initially tasked with creating sparkly videos, but this role became the spark that reignited a deeper passion. Joining Yamathon’s Social Media team last year allowed her to rediscover a lost love for content creation and social media while also recognizing the valuable experience she has gained over the years. This year, she’s excited to take on a new challenge and join the organizing team to create content and discuss social media strategy in her new role—showcasing the incredible experiences that Yamathon offers to participants, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers.

Aki oversees venue operations and vendor relations, ensuring the seamless execution of the event. With a commitment to working closely with sponsors, volunteers, and participants, Aki is dedicated to making this Yamathon a resounding success.
